The Make-Up-Center opened in 1962, providing theatrical make-up for professionals in the theater, movies, ballet and TV.  Familiar with its stage make-up, these professionals asked the Make-Up-Center to develop makeup for everyday wear. The Make-Up Center remained on West 55th Street in New York City for 48 years and then finally transitioned to an online store.

The heart and soul of Make-Up Center lies in the family business. If you have shopped at the store or called to discuss an order, you spoke with Kurt, Cathy, or one of their daughters, Chrissy or Amanda. The Make-Up Center offers a more personalized shopping experience. While Kurt and Cathy are still actively involved in running Make-Up Center, Amanda and Chrissy have started to play a larger role in serving the customers that have been a part of our family for so long. We are excited to continue to bring you all of the products that you know and love, as well as add some new and exciting skincare and make-up!
